New blog from G&G Goodfellows

The Staff Canteen

The Staff Canteen is proud to announce the start of a new regular blog coming soon from G&G Goodfellows Ltd, suppliers of bespoke tableware to the hotel and catering industry.   Before a diner even tastes a morsel of your food, their senses have computed an array of opinions and preconceptions. The rest of the dining experience confirms, excels or disappoints these preconceptions. So for those who say that food presentation is matter of style over substance, think again!   As U.K. chefs have an insatiable appetite for knowledge on what is trending around the world in terms of food styles and new ideas, you have quite rightly become more demanding in your choice of what your food is served on. More than ever, you are asking for concepts rather than individual pieces, to match a menu, not just one dish.   Whether you are into Retro Americana, Classical French Bistro, Modern British or Fusion; you are talking about concepts; collections of dishes that work together within a theme. They will either look authentic or just gimmicky, depending on how you present them as part of the concept story.   We thought we could offer an inside track into what presentation concepts are emerging and what to look out for when you are trying to match your food to your table style. So, over the coming months, we are going to give you regular updates on what’s hot and what’s not; how to put a concept range of products together that will mix & match with your food without breaking the bank; and how to develop your own signature concept (if you haven’t already got there).   There will be great images, ideas and tips on looking for great presentation products. We will even answer any individual questions you may have about your own presentation issues, as we will give you our contact details.   In the meantime, here’s an image we made earlier. Call us, tweet us or email us if you want to know more.
