Premier Foodservice launch new Winter Warmers recipe calendar

The Staff Canteen

Premier Foodservice is launching a six-month ‘Winter Warmers’ calendar, which will run from October 2015 through to March 2016, containing recipe inspiration, top tips and advice on how the profit sector can make the most of the colder months. Seasonal occasions such as Halloween, Bonfire Night, Christmas and Valentine’s Day are crucial winter events that take place over this period and present caterers with the perfect opportunity to spice up menus, generate excitement amongst customers and most importantly, increase sales. Six new recipes using Premier Foods’ best-loved brands such as Bisto, Sharwood’s, Homepride and McDougalls, feature within the new calendar and have been created by Mark Rigby, Executive Chef and Head of Innovation at Premier Foods. From Bisto Pumpkin Lasagne, perfect for Halloween, to Roast Lamb with Rhubarb & Cider Bisto Gravy, each recipe demonstrates how professional chefs can create delicious and interesting recipes, tailored for each winter month. Sarah Robb, Channel Marketing Manager, said: “This is a first for us as the Winter Warmers campaign enables us to support caterers with recipes and ideas through a crucial six month period. Winter is an important time of the year for caterers as each month presents a new occasion and therefore a new opportunity to drive sales. We realise it can also be a stressful time in any professional kitchen and at Premier Foods we aim to make life easier for our customers, by providing them with products they can rely on and helpful advice in a format that will keep them organised throughout the winter season.” All recipes within the new calendar are underpinned by independent research carried out by Cambridge Direction on behalf of Premier Foods. Each recipe also includes recipe costings, price per portion and allergen information. To celebrate the launch of the new Winter Warmers calendar, Premier Foods is running an online competition giving caterers the chance to win a UK break for two. To be in with a chance of winning this fantastic prize, caterers just need to download the Winter Warmers calendar from the Premier Foodservice website by 31st March 2016.

Halloween Excitement

To coincide with the launch of its Winter Warmers calendar, Premier Foods is kicking off the winter in style by running an online pumpkin carving competition. Throughout October, Premier Foodservice will be asking caterers to showcase their skills and creativity by posting images or videos of their spookiest pumpkins, with the winning designer receiving a culinary hamper worth £100. Premier Foods will be posting its very own videos via its Twitter feed throughout the month to provide inspiration and top pumpkin carving tips. To enter, caterers need only tweet an image or video of their design to @PremierFoods_FS using #PremierPumpkin to be in with a chance of winning. All entries must be received by 2 November 2015.
