The Scotch Egg Challenge 2017 created by Oisín Rogers, General Manager at Young's The Guinea in Mayfair is returning for its sixth year and is now open for entries.

Returning for its sixth year, The Scotch Egg Challenge 2017 will be held at The Canonbury in Islington on Tuesday, February 8, 2017 and will be hosted by Jow Warwick.

Past winners include chef Calum Franklin from Holborn Dining Room who won Best Traditional Egg in 2015 for his white pudding and sausage creation and Princess Victoria's Nick Maloney who won in the Best Unconventional category for his Thai Scotch Egg.

Shorlisted contestants will be invited to create their scotch eggs in front of a panel of judges that includes the Guardian's Bob Granleese, chef and owner of Kiln Soho, Ben Chapman and Restaurant Magazine Editor, Stefan Chomka.

Chefs from restaurants, pubs and cafes are encouraged to enter the competition for the chance to have their recipe be named the nation's best Scotch Egg. There are two categories chefs can enter which includes Traditional and Unconventional.
