Sven-Hanson Britt appointed head chef of Monica Galetti's Mere restaurant
Monica Galetti has appointed Sven-Hanson Britt Head Chef at her Mere restaurant in London.
Announcing the news via a post on Instagram, the restaurant revealed the appointment confirming that both Monica and Sven were in the process of designing new dishes.
The post on Mere's Instagram read: "Exciting News! Sven Hanson has joined Monica at Mere as our head chef! They have been busy brainstorming exciting new dishes inspired from the Pacific Islands together!"
Sven became a household name after becoming a finalist on MasterChef: the Professionals in 2014 whilst Monica was a judge, before later winning the MasterChef: The Professionals, Rematch
His appointment comes two months after Sven permanently closed his Oxeye restaurant in London's Nine Elms after nearly years worth of service.
Sven has previously held positions at the Ritz London, and is the co-founder of ethical chocolate company Cartografie.
Monica opened Mere with her husband David in 2017, with the restaurant's menu offering a range of classical French and South Pacific Island influences.
Mere was recommended in the Michelin Guide Great Britain and Ireland 2023 but does not hold a star.
