Ultraviolet awarded 3 stars in the Michelin Guide Shanghai 2018

The Staff Canteen

Ultraviolet joins the elite three star club while four new restaurants gain one star in the Michelin Guide Shanghai 2018.

French chef Paul Pairet sees his Shanghai restaurant, Ultraviolet be bumped up from two to three stars in the newly released guide.

Ultraviolet is an exclusive venue with a single 10 seat table. Paul has never revealed its actual whereabouts with customers having to be picked up by shuttle bus from Paul’s other restaurant, Mr & Mrs Bund before journeying to the secret location.

Diners can only choose from a set menu consisting of 20 courses with the average price for dinner costing 4000-6000RMB (£448-671).

New to the one star club include Bo Shanghai, Jean-Georges, Yongfu and Wujie (The Bund).

Elsewhere T’ang Court located in The Langham hotel retained its coveted three stars and a further 27 restaurants were awarded bib gourmands for offering quality menus at affordable prices.

This is the second edition of the guide to be published in Shanghai with the first release being unveiled last year.
