Vivek Singh and VistaBee create Google Glass food video

The Staff Canteen
TV chef Vivek Singh has teamed up with video tech company VistaBee to recreate the world’s first Google Glass to Google Glass food video. Vivek, executive chef and CEO of modern Indian restaurants The Cinnamon Club, Cinnamon Kitchen and Cinnamon Soho, has embraced Google’s controversial wearable technology to give budding cooks a chef’s eye view of one of his signature dishes, Tandoori Sea Bream. Google Glass allows Vivek to show how he prepares his dish from his perspective, showing the step-by-step processes up close. Vivek said: “We are delighted to work with VistaBee to bring this unique type of Google Glass video to market, and share some of the tips of the trade with those who love great food. “Truly this is great technology. After a few minutes it becomes so natural to show the detail in the preparation of creative Indian cuisine.” Steve Reilly CEO of VistaBee, whose clients include Google, Newsquest and Zoopla, is a Google Glass Explorer who is testing the search engine giant’s prototype. This is the first time two pairs of Google Glass have been used simultaneously to create a cookery video and he is pleased to have the Saturday Kitchen and Masterchef regular on board. Steve said: “It’s fascinating to watch Vivek at work, the detail of how the dish is prepared and the intimacy of this type of technology gives budding foodies a real insight into this chef’s talent. “You get to see close up how the dish is prepared in a way that’s not been possible before with traditional technology, it’s a game changer for the food industry and we’re delighted to help bring this technology to market.” The video can be seen here via YouTube.
