Andrew Sheridan's About Dining Group to launch neighbourhood restaurant, Black and Green

Chef Andrew Sheridan has announced plans to launch Black & Green, a charming 16-seater neighbourhood restaurant in the heart of his hometown in Worcestershire village, Barnt Green.

Set to launch on the 9th June, Black and Green is the latest addition to the award-winning About Dining restaurant group, based in Birmingham city centre and independently owned by Sheridan, alongside husband-and-wife team Sam and Emma Morgan, who live in the neighbouring village, Blackwell.

The seasonal tasting menu will be headed up by Sheridan and will offer a modern interpretation of British flavours, centred around local ingredients of the highest quality from micro suppliers and neighbours.

With a weekly changing menu, expect classic dishes reinterpreted with originality and flair, think Beef and Root Tartar, Jumbo Plaice with Buttermilk Sauce, alongside Chocolate & Cherry Pie.

Known for his innovative and progressive cooking, Andrew’s menu at Black and Green has been created with accessibility and suitability at the forefront.

The intimate and convivial space is akin to all those restaurants you've eaten at in Europe and wish existed in the Midlands. With an open kitchen and a chef’s bench, guests will be able to watch Andrew and his team seamlessly prepare an array of culinary delights.

The refined drinks menu has also been curated by Andrew, Sam, and Emma, working with artisan suppliers from the Midlands and across the UK, the lists feature locally distilled spirits, premium beers and ciders including Sharp’s Camel Valley Pilsner, and Aspalls 1728 fine sparkling cyder.

The wine list also reflects the core ethos of supporting British brands, with niche and exclusive offerings such as Black Country Gold, as well as and fortified, low-intervention, organic, and bio-dynamic wines.

Bookings for Black and Green are now live. The menu is priced at £55 for five courses, or £65 for six, with an optional drinks pairing for £55.
