Among the programme highlights, President and Founder of the Society of British Interior Designers,Vanessa Brady will be showing visitors how to increase business by being savvy with design, while Tina Norden, Associate Director of Conran & Partners, will be discussing the merits of boutique hotel interiors. Tim Mutton of Blacksheep will explore designing Brands & Concepts, and creating a Unique Visual Identity will be explained by Shaun Clarkson of Shaun Clarkson ID.
Ed Davies of GA Design International, will be revealing the story behind the development of one of London’s most iconic and luxurious hotels, the Corinthia, while Oliver Salway of Softroom Architects, the designers of the phenomenal Japanese-influenced YOTEL cabins, will be delivering a not to be missed talk on how to optimise design for those with limited space.
Stage Curator Stirling Johnstone said: “With such an exciting line up of internationally renowned speakers covering all aspects of the hospitality design landscape, there really will be something for everyone on the Design Inspiration Stage. Competition for each consumer pound is so fierce nowadays that great design can really set your offering apart from the rest.”
The Design Inspiration Stage is also host to Foster & Partners, who are just completing the first new-build luxury hotel where they have taken on the role of both architects and interior designers. The amazing new ME by Meliã flagship hotel will be revealed and discussed in detail by partner and project leader, Giles Robinson. And the brilliant Joa Studholme, Farrow & Ball's International Colour Consultant will be explaining how to transform your interiors.
Lighting and Sound trends will also be up for discussion with Darren Orrow from Into Lighting Design consultants – the lighting innovators behind such projects as Leon, Carluccio’s, the Waldorf Hilton, Hawksmoor and Galvin La Chapelle – discussing these and other projects, offering advice and help on how to get your lighting up to scratch. Rob Wood of Music Concierge, a bespoke music consultancy service for luxury restaurants, hotels and bars and Chris Gunton of CGA Integration – a specialist systems installer, will be taking to the Design Inspiration Stage in tandem to discuss the technology and psychology of sound and its relationship with the space it inhabits.
Stirling Johnstone added: “Our speakers have been specially selected to offer show visitors – from those on a strict budget, to those seeking high-end luxury and everything in between – a new way of thinking about what constitutes brilliant, innovative design.”
The Design Inspiration Stage is part of the Interiors section at The Hospitality Show, which brings together furniture, soft furnishings and tableware, covering all the angles for buyers looking to enhance their front-of-house offer. For 2013 the event co-locates with neighbouring exhibition Interiors UK, enabling visitors to visit for free with their Hospitality ticket.
