Scottish Culinary Championships 2015, ScotHot 4 & 5 March 2015.
We are delighted to announce the publication of the Scottish Culinary Championships 2015 brochure. With ScotHot 2015 now being part of the exciting new Signature Program of events during Scottish Tourism week, we had to look at developing the competitions to make the most of our new 2 day format.
We have now included 3 areas within the competitions, the Live Theatre - showcasing your skills live in front of an audience of your peers. The second area is Culinary Art, displaying fine technique and artistry in the cold display section, and finally the all new Skills Arena- giving you the opportunity to compete live in a non cooking environment with competitions including vegetable preparation, sushi, crab dressing and many more.
The new competition formats are being enhance by a new easy to use online entry system which will go live in the week commencing the 1 December 2014.
Live Theatre Classes,
These classes have been developed and updated to reflect current trends, new competition classes for 2015 are: the dessert challenge open to all chefs, The Risotto Challenge an new junior chef challenge to encourage young chefs to compete live. Finally the student chef tapas competition, a two person team competition to showcase Scottish style tapas with the winners going on to represent Scotland in the USA next year.
Culinary Art
Our ever popular classes in the cold display have been grouped under a new title which better reflects the skill and artistry which is involved in creating these entries.
Skills Arena
A new grouping of competitions which are performed live but no cooking involved. We have also included some of our most popular competitions such as vegetable preparation and napkin folding which have found a new home here, alongside a variety of new and exciting competitions.
