The Chequers at Crowle win £10,000 grand prize with McCain

In times where industry news appears to be more often negative than positive, it is great to be able to highlight uplifting stories. Back in July, in a bid to support the foodservice industry, McCain Foodservice UK created an opportunity for their customers to enter a prize draw and be in with the chance to win a massive 10 thousand pounds!

On Friday 9th October the lucky winner was announced – The Chequers at Crowle in Worcestershire!

McCain Foodservice UK is absolutely thrilled to be supporting a local, independent business in getting back in the game during these more testing times.

When presented with the grand 10K cheque, The Chequers Director, Faye Donely, said “This amazing news has really brightened our spirits for the first time since covid-19, I couldn’t say thank you enough to everyone at McCain!” When asked how The Chequers plan to spend the prize money, Donely explained how the money will be a massive help in extending their garden and outside dining area, stating; “With the updated restrictions, it is key for us to have a larger and more comfortable outdoor area so we can try to continue operating as best and as safe as possible.” The Chequers at Crowe is a pub that prides itself as being part of the beating heart within its local community, “we have a loyal and local customer base, where we’re here for them as much at they’re here for us” explains Donely.

Richard Jones, Commercial Director at McCain Foodservice, said “Everyone here at McCain is beyond proud to now know that McCain have played their part in the future progression of The Chequers story. We aim to continue to be able to support similar businesses and our customers throughout the future.” For more McCain Foodservice updates and to see the latest news and ‘Back in the game’ support available, please visit: www.McCainfoodservice.co.uk
