Academy of Culinary Arts Awards of Excellence 2013 finalists announced

            The Academy of Culinary Arts has announced the list of 54 finalists for the Awards of Excellence 2013. The announcement comes following the completion of seven finals around the UK in which over 100 young chefs, pastry chefs and waiters competed. The Kitchen finalists are:

The kitchen final will take place at the University of West London on Wednesday 19th June. The pastry final will take place at Westminster Kingsway College on Wednesday 19th June. The service finals will take place at Le Gavroche on Saturday 15th June and The Gleneagles Hotel on Monday 24th June. Candidates who achieve the Award of Excellence will receive a certificate, a chef’s jacket or sommelier’s apron and a magnum of champagne. Candidates with the highest marks in each section will receive prizes including a scholarship thanks to the Savoy Educational Trust, Meyer cookware, Victorinox knives and a day’s work experience at The Fat Duck.
