Michelin-starred restaurant believed to be closed following major fire in London
Michelin-starred Endo at the Rotunda is believed to be closed after a major fire broke out at the Television Centre in White City on Saturday morning, September 6.
London Fire Brigade confirmed that 15 fire engines and around 100 firefighters were called to tackle the blaze on the eighth floor of the Helios Building, where Endo at the Rotunda is located. Two aerial ladder platforms were used as water towers to bring the fire under control.
Fire crews reported that the restaurant, its external decking and ventilation ducting were all alight when they arrived on the scene. At its height, smoke and flames could be seen across West London.
The cause of the fire is not yet known and an investigation is underway.
London Ambulance Service said one person was treated by paramedics after it was called shortly before 3.15am.

A statement issued by the London Fire Brigade on Saturday morning said: "As of 0800 hrs, a restaurant, external decking and ducting remains alight...the cause of the fire is unknown at this time."

The chef was born in Yokohoma, Japan's second biggest city in population terms after Tokyo.
Endo-san is a third generation sushi master and learnt his trade from his grandfather, who owned and operated a popular local sushi bar. He learnt the centuries-old Edomae technique in Tokyo, where the tradition was born 200 years ago.
Known for its intimate setting and panoramic views across London, Endo at the Rotunda has attracted diners from around the world, many booking months in advance to experience its meticulous approach to Japanese cuisine.

The restaurant's catch phrase, 'Sushi in the Clouds,' like The Rotunda, refers to its location at the top of the BBC TV Centre in White City.

Omakase-style dining allows for 16 guests to sit at the chef's table - a Hinoki wood sushi counter – to watch Endo and his team prepare sushi using fish predominantly sourced from Scotland, Cornwall, and Brittany.
The water used to cook the Yamagata rice is shipped in barrels from the chef's home village and the rice vinegar is home-made.
Endo at the Rotunda offers two seasonal Omakase options for dinner and lunch, as well as an à la carte menu.
