The Staff Canteen

Eyck Zimmer, executive chef in Berlin, currently in between jobs, won the National Chef of the Year 2006.

As well as being the UK’s National Chef of the Year 2006, Eyck also became the Chef of the Year in Portugal 2008 - a competition with a similar format.

Eyck worked in Hong Kong after working in the Lowry Hotel from 2010 to 2014 for 4 years. The Lowry Hotel was the first 5-star hotel in Manchester and one of only 20 hotels in the UK to be part

of the Leading Hotels of The World with its restaurant offering the best local and seasonal produce.

We believe in staying open to everyone, but creating this content takes real resources. If you’ve ever found value here—whether it’s a recipe, an interview, or a laugh when you needed it most—consider giving just £3 to keep it going.

A little from you keeps this space free for all. Let’s keep lifting the industry, together.
