The Fat Duck to add Sunday lunches before Australia relocation

The Staff Canteen

Heston Blumenthal’s The Fat Duck in Bray adds Sunday lunches in December before its migration south. The Fat Duck in Berkshire is moving to a six-month relocation in Melbourne, Australia whilst the kitchen is being renovated. The restaurant has added extra Sunday services for its customers for December only with normal opening days and hours until the end of November. The award-winning restaurant will now be open on 7th, 14th and 21st December. These dates are available now and open for booking. Lunch on Sunday 21st December will be the last service at The Fat Duck in Bray for the better part of a year. The cost of the tasting menu is £220 per person.

Heston will re-open its doors in Melbourne on 3rd February 2015. The iconic restaurant will celebrate its 20th anniversary in August 2015 with the whole team in Melbourne whilst the Berkshire kitchen undergoes its transformation. The Grade II listed building, which was built in 1640, will re-open in September 2015 with a new modern kitchen in its original Bray location. Speaking about the move Heston Blumenthal said: “Australia’s response to the news that The Fat Duck would make Melbourne its home for six months has been absolutely overwhelming. I am utterly humbled by the reception”. Read more about the move to Australia here. By Jenny Williams
