Joe Baker is the chef owner of Number 10 in Jersey and this is his second year in the Great British Menu kitchen - he narrowly missed getting to the finals last year.

Joe studied English at Durham University and then gained a Master's degree in finance in London. Although he was constantly cooking and working in kitchens he finally made the leap to become a chef full-time and gained experience at May The Fifteenth in South London and various other restaurants around the world.

Joe considers himself to be self-taught and moved back to Jersey in 2016 to open his own restaurant, No. 10 in St. Helier, in the same year.

Number 10 is a family run restaurant which serves modern British and European food in a relaxed setting, with a focus on seasonal local produce and a regularly changing menu. Joe and his team truly believe in being uncompromising about using the best local produce, treated with care and imagination.
