Amber Francis, Head Chef at the Zebra Riding Club, is one of four chefs competing for the South West HEat on Great British Menu 2023.

Series 18 of the competition starts on January 31 2023 on BBC Two at 8pm and will air for eight weeks.

Amber is going head to head with chefs Nick Beardshaw, Andrew Tuck and Charlotte Vincent in a bid to represent the South West in the regional finals, and ultimately cook a dish at the final banquet.

Biography

Amber is the Head Chef at The Zebra Riding Club, Hertfordshire. 

Starting her career off in the kitchens of Ritz Hotel, Amber gone on to develop a cookery style driven by seasonal British produce.

As head chef at Zebra Riding Club, a largely self-sustaining restaurant within the grounds of Hertfordshire retreat Birch, Amber uses her extensive training to create delicious and intriguing menus for guests visiting the venue.

Based in Birch, Hertfordshire; The Zebra Riding Club is located in a 55 acre community concept, the restaurat is part of a hotel and various meeting, dining, leisure and activity spaces.

The Zebra Riding Club has brasserie styling and a feature wood-burning oven, and the set menu focuses on generous yet refined farm-to-table dining. Some cocktails are inspired by the garden.

The restaurant has been featured in Michelin guide and is an attractive spot for destination diners.
