The Springboard Hospitality Sailing Cup - a two day sailing event - will be open exclusively to hospitality industry providers and suppliers between 12-13 September 2016.

Participants will help raise brand awareness and are asked to pledge a £500 donation to The Springboard Charity which helps young people find employment within the Hospitality Industry.

Michael Shepard, General Manager at The London Hilton on Park Lane and former participant said: “The Hospitality Sailing Cup is an exhilarating way to build strong working bonds and team spirit between colleagues in a really unique environment. It has allowed our team of hospitality professionals to interact with associates from competitor companies in a different environment, and a level playing field.”

He continued: “This activity, in support of Springboard, provides a great focus on this committed Charity for the hospitality industry and all the good work they do. The Sailing Cup challenges individuals and also allows for good networking opportunities in our industry. Everyone that has participated always comments on the huge value they have benefited from this team building experience.”

No previous sailing experience is required as entry includes a high-quality Match First 40 yacht captained by a professional skipper and mate.

Simon Boulding, Event Director at Sunsail said: “Sunsail is proud to support the Springboard Hospitality Sailing Cup and we look forward to hosting the hospitality industry and helping raise valuable funds for Springboard.”

The funds raised will support The Springboard Charity and help the young, the unemployed and those facing barriers to work into sustainable employment in the hospitality, leisure and tourism industry.

Anne Pierce, Springboard’s CEO, said: “Our Sailing Cup is a unique way of bringing businesses together through a wonderful two day sailing event. It offers businesses a great way to raise funds for Springboard, showcase their brands, and develop employee’s team spirit on the high seas.”

Springboard also works closely with the industry to help attract more talent and address skills shortages. In doing so, it has the support of over 180 different industry establishments and suppliers.
