As the hospitality industry begins to reopen and adjust to the post lockdown way of life it’s clear that it will be a long road back to something close to normality.

As with all businesses The Staff Canteen has felt the impact of Coronavirus and as a company it has had to adjust and adapt in order to survive.

Editor, Cara Houchen explained: “It’s been tough watching the industry we all love and enjoy working with every day, pushed to the limit over the past few months. There have been some real lows but equally there have been some great examples of generosity and selflessness which we at The Staff Canteen have been proud to celebrate.

“Myself and the team want to keep giving you the content you come to us for, we are always asking our followers what they want to see plus we celebrate what you, the members add to the website, and that’s why we consider The Staff Canteen to be a real community.

“We too need a bit of help from time to time so we have created the option for our members to contribute towards the website if they would like to, so we can continue to entertain, engage and inform you with all things hospitality.”

Despite having to furlough a large portion of the team, The Staff Canteen is still delivering the valuable and honest information, which hundreds of thousands of you visit us for. We believe we should be open to all, giving you a platform to share opinions and inspiration, as well as supporting our amazing sector.

But our advertising revenues have all but disappeared. We need your help and as a result we have launched an optional subscription to our website. Every contribution whether big or small, means a lot and you can support The Staff Canteen from as little as £1.

Our Editorial team have a critical role to play in informing and supporting our audience in a balanced way. We would never put up a paywall and restrict access – The Staff Canteen is open to all and we want to keep bringing you the content you want; more from younger chefs, more on mental health, more tips and industry knowledge, more recipes and more videos.
