Sicilian Ragu-Stuffed Bread with Risotto, Melted Cheese & Balsamic

30 min

Sicilian Ragu-Stuffed Bread Bowl – Method
Prep:
Prepare a batch of Sicilian pork ragu (slow-cooked, full depth)
Cook risotto to creamy consistency (not too loose)
Select a sturdy bread loaf (denser crumb works best)
Thinly slice quality Sicilian salami
Assembly:
5. Carefully hollow out the centre of the bread, creating a bowl-like vessel (keep walls thick enough to hold structure)
6. Layer inside: risotto first as the base
7. Add the warm Sicilian pork ragu on top of the risotto
8. Top with a mix of shredded parmesan and mozzarella cheese
9. Arrange salami slices across the top, covering the cheese
Baking:
10. Place stuffed bread on baking tray
11. Bake at 180°C for 20 minutes until salami crisps at edges, cheeses melt through, and bread is golden
Plating:
12. Transfer to plate
13. Drizzle quality olive oil around the bread
14. Garnish with fresh parsley (finely chopped)
15. Add aged balsamic reduction on the side or drizzled across plate
Serve: Warm, immediately after plating
