Gary Usher smashes his Kickstarter campaign for new restaurant Pinion by almost £30,000

After launching his Kickstarter campaign last night, Gary Usher has exceeded his crowdfunding target by nearly £30,000. The Kickstarter reached its target of £50,000 within one hour of the campaign launching and is now at £79,429 (and rising!) thanks to pledges from 1,077 backers. The campaign aims to get his fifth restaurant Pinion which will be based in Prescot in Merseyside up and running.

Launching at 9 pm last night, Gary's Kickstarter reached its target in just under an hour. He posted his gratitude on Twitter - "It’s overwhelming beyond words,” he said “It’s still going. You lot are still going. I just want to try & express how I feel. It’s overwhelming beyond words. I’m so grateful to have support like this & I don’t want anyone to think I take it for granted. It gives me the confidence to know what we’re doing is ok. Thank you."

Pledgers who have supported the campaign can expect rewards such as meal vouchers, opening night party invitations, masterclasses, private dinners and lunches at other Elite Bistros sites.

Pinion will be situated in a former Betfred bookmakers building and the funds raised will help with the renovation into a 55-cover bistro which is expected to open over the summer which will follow the same style as Gary’s other restaurants within his company Elite Bistros: Sticky Walnut in Chester, Burnt Truffle in Heswall on the Wirral, Hispi in Didsbury, Greater Manchester, and Wreckfish in Liverpool.
