Craft Guild of Chefs’ Vice Presidents launch Young Chef Scholarship

The Craft Guild of Chefs has launched a brand-new Young Chef Scholarship programme, for which each year one chef will secure a bursary for education and training worth up to £5000. As the UK’s leading chef’s organisation, the Craft Guild of Chefs is committed to inspiring and developing the next generation of chefs into innovative and creative professionals, and this new scholarship will help support that aim.

Steve Munkley, Vice President comments, “We are delighted to officially launch the annual Young Chef Scholarship, an initiative all the Vice Presidents are pleased to have delivered. It’s a fantastic opportunity for young chefs, and I urge them to get in touch and apply for the support in their education and training.”

The Young Chef Scholarship will provide funding of up to £5000 to the successful applicant. The funding is to be used to access opportunities which specifically enhance the chef scholar’s culinary education and development. Eligible activities for the use of this scholarship will include:

Small Contribution. Big Impact.

The Staff Canteen has always been more than a website—it’s a community, built by and for hospitality. We share the wins, the challenges, the graft, and the inspiration that keeps kitchens alive.

We believe in staying open to everyone, but creating this content takes real resources. If you’ve ever found value here—whether it’s a recipe, an interview, or a laugh when you needed it most—consider giving just £3 to keep it going.

A little from you keeps this space free for all. Let’s keep lifting the industry, together.
