What jackets are the Michelin-star chefs are wearing?

January and February 2024 was an extremely busy start to the year for the hospitality industry. Two of the biggest events took place and Lafont is honoured to have attended and sponsored both. We’ve had existing, iconic Michelin star chefs wearing and complementing our jackets, and brand-new Michelin star-chefs discovering our jackets too- here is what they’re wearing!

17 nights, 18 world class chefs, 21 Michelin stars between them. And it was truly phenomenal.

Northcote have been doing this for 24 years, and yet they triumphed with Obsession24. Everything from the service to the food, the wine selection to the precision of the front of house staff was exquisite.

Lafont was honoured to be the digital sponsor of the unrivalled culinary event. To have all 18 chefs wear our jackets and see so many team members across Northcote, both front and back of house proudly wearing the Lafont brand was wonderful.

The guest chefs chose their own jackets, but a popular choice among the industry legends was our “Basil” and “Platine” jackets. A mix of comfortable, durable, and smart - we had some great feedback from the chefs. See how good some of them looked in their jackets below!

Our close ties with Northcote, and executive chef Lisa Goodwin-Allen being one of our brand ambassadors, meant that sponsoring this event made perfect sense. We wanted to show all the support we could for the Northcote team and their efforts into making Obsession bigger and better year-on-year. Our Managing Director, Neil Boston, had the following to say when asked why Lafont chose to sponsor Obsession24:

“Obsession is one of the most talked about events in the culinary calendar with some of the best chefs displaying their culinary skills, so what better way to showcase our chef jackets than in the kitchen during this high profile event, being worn by some high profile chefs! Add to all of that the amazing amount of money that Obsession raises for Hospitality Action and we couldn’t really not support the event.”

It was a pleasure to be able to dine at Northcote on the night of Lorna McNee, another Lafont brand ambassador. Seeing the kitchen and FOH in action in their Lafont jackets and aprons really made it all worth it for us.

Congratulations to the entire team at Northcote and every single one of the guest chefs and their teams for an amazing achievement in making Obsession24 one of the best years yet.

2024 Michelin Awards.
Unarguably the single most anticipated event of the year within our industry, the UK Michelin Awards. Held at The Midland, Manchester, for the first time ever.

Being the Global Chef Jacket Partner of Michelin meant the prep for Lafont started weeks before the event, but it was all worth it on the night of the event. To see so many recognised faces in the industry all in one room was phenomenal.

To be able to be there celebrating with chefs and friends, new and old, is a momentous occasion for us. It is an honour to have each new Michelin star chef awarded with a Lafont jacket.

The Michelin jacket of choice is our “Michelin Cristal” jacket. It is the epitome of traditional, high-quality, and service-smart jackets for chefs - the jacket that chefs aspire to wear alongside receiving their Michelin award. Seeing so many industry triumphs in our jackets is phenomenal.

Congratulations to every single chef who retained and achieved their stars in 2024, it is an astronomical achievement for you!
