at Kendal College, Kevin went to work for the Michelin starred Sharrow Bay as chef de partie before moving on to L’Enclume with Simon Rogan where he worked his way up the ranks to become sous chef and head forager. It was during this time that Kevin’s passion for foraging grew and after nine years Kevin was appointed head chef of another of Simon’s restaurants, Rogan & Co which is just around the corner from L’Enclume.
In March 2023, Heft was awarded one Michelin star.

Housed in a 17th century Inn, Heft is the award-winning vision from Kevin and Nicola Tickle.
Heft's main restaurant has been restored to reflect the aesthetic of a traditional British inn, allowing guests to dine on a range of tasting menus for both lunch and dinner, while in the bar, guests enjoy quality beers, carefully selected wines and seasonal small plates and snacks.
Heft also boasts are five guest bedrooms for those who would like to stay the night allowing destination diners from across the UK and afar.
Despit opening only a few years, Heft has won one Michelin star and has been frequent inclusion in some of hospitality's most respected guides and writer's columns.
