Food Style

As a firm believer in the open kitchen philosophy, Steve Drake and his team are happy to chat with guests at Sorrel about the

inspiration behind the food, as well as watching it being prepared up close.

As with a growing number of restaurants, Sorrel is only open four days a week to provide the team with an effective work-life balance. Sorrel prides itself on using the very best of British produce.

Sorrel’s menus are inspired by simplicity, discovery and the ingredients themselves, Steve and his team constantly evolve the menu to follow and reflect the seasons.

Small Contribution. Big Impact.

The Staff Canteen has always been more than a website—it’s a community, built by and for hospitality. We share the wins, the challenges, the graft, and the inspiration that keeps kitchens alive.

We believe in staying open to everyone, but creating this content takes real resources. If you’ve ever found value here—whether it’s a recipe, an interview, or a laugh when you needed it most—consider giving just £3 to keep it going.

A little from you keeps this space free for all. Let’s keep lifting the industry, together.
