Michelin Guide UK 2023: Latest additions, June 2023

Knipe Grill at Gilpin Lake House is one of 11 new restaurants included in the latest update of the Michelin Guide Great Britain & Ireland.

These additions were made based on the travels and assessments of Michelin inspectors, and they are marked with a 'New' symbol on the Michelin website and mobile app.

While these restaurants have been recognized by the guide, their specific awards, such as stars or Bib Gourmand distinctions, will only be confirmed at the next official Michelin Guide ceremony, likely to take place early next year.

The newly added restaurants offer a diverse range of culinary styles and influences, incorporating Armenian, Spanish, Italian, and Japanese flavors to cater to a wide range of diners.

Plates by Purnell's in Birmingham, situated near Glynn Purnell's Michelin-starred flagship restaurant, is known for its authentic

and enjoyable Spanish flavors, featuring dishes like cassoulet of chickpeas and patatas bravas.

Another notable addition is the Knipe Grill at Gilpin Lake House in Bowness-on-Windermere, which joined Gilpin Spice and SOURCE at Gilpin Hotel following the departure of executive chef Hrishikesh Desai.

The restaurant has been commended for its combination of luxurious and playful dining experiences.

Additional restaurants that have made it into the Michelin Guide this month include Dill in Lewes, Hawthorn and Lusin in London, Maison in Wrecclesham, Mayha in London, Palmito in Brighton and Hove, The Forager in Dollar, The Three Horseshoes in Fordham, and tipo in Edinburgh.
