Carpet Bag Steak

This is a great classic Ozy Dish


  • 5x Oysters
  • 1x 8oz fillet Steak
  • 2 x Rashers of Smokry Bacon
  • Flour
  • A selection of Green Vegetables


Remove the oysters from the shells and wash to remove any grit
make a pocket in the side of the steak big enough to fill with the oysters
place 4 of the 5 oysters in the pocket
wrap the bacon around the steack to seal in the oysters and pin with a cocktail stick or tie off with some string to hold the bacon in place
cook the steak to your desired taste (i like it Rare)
with the veg just pan fry till witled
with the 5th oyester toss in to the flour and shallow fry for 5 secs or till crispy
to serve
place the veg onto your plate
