Sam Buckley is The Chef patron of Michelin Green Starred Where The Light Gets In

In 2017, Sam completed his lifelong dream after opening Where The Light Gets In (WTLGI) in Stockport.

This restaurant is the embodiment of his sustainability-driven culinary vision. It offers hyper-seasonal tasting menus that feature the best of British ingredients, prepared with a global influence.

What sets WTLGI apart is its transparent and sustainable approach to growing, sourcing, minimizing waste, and engaging guests in the culinary journey.

Sam has said, "We aim to generate as much naturally grown produce as is possible from our farm. We only work with suppliers who respect the land and who farm using heritage methods and without chemicals. Waste avoidance is the core of our creative process."

Born in Stockport, England, Sam's culinary journey began while studying art in college.

He initially started as a waiter but soon found himself drawn to the dynamic and creative environment of the kitchen.

This transition marked the beginning of his culinary career, which would later blend artistry and gastronomy in remarkable ways.

In addition to his culinary pursuits, he embarked on tours with bands and earned a journalism degree, all while nurturing his unwavering passion for food. This blend of experiences enriched his perspective on creativity and storytelling, qualities that would come to define his culinary style.

Under the mentorship of renowned chefs like Gary Rhodes, Paul Kitching, and Simon Rogan, Sam honed his culinary skills and developed a fearless approach to cooking.

Sam Buckley's story is one of creativity, resilience, and dedication to sustainability. His restaurant, Where The Light Gets In, is not just a dining destination; it's a testament to the transformative power of sustainable gastronomy.

Sam continues to inspire and lead the way towards a more ethical and environmentally conscious future in the world of fine dining.
