Alain Ducasse is well-known for emphasising the importance of vegetables throughout his cuisine. So naturally, with the third week in May marking National Vegetarian Week, Alain Ducasse at The Dorchester will celebrate with an array of vegetarian dishes. The restaurant has been championing the humble vegetable and serving its 7-course vegetarian menu, the Menu Jardin, to guests since its opening in 2007. Dishes on the Menu Jardin include Raw and cooked Wild Mushrooms, tender herb pesto and Gratinated Spelt, artichokes and Swiss chard.
In addition to the Menu Jardin this year, guests can enjoy alternative vegetarian dishes on the limited edition Lunch Hour Menu – The Gardening Hour Menu. Devised by Executive Chef Jean-Philippe Blondet, the predominantly vegetarian menu includes options such as Green and white asparagus, fresh cheese and Venere Rice, wild fennel and citrus condiment. Head Pastry Chef Angelo Ercolano has also created a selection of desserts including the Apple and Rhubarb composition. Non-vegetarian main courses will also be available to guests on the menu.
The Menu Jardin is priced at £115 for 7 courses. From Tuesday 16th May to Friday 19th May; 12:00pm to 1:30pm, guests can enjoy the limited edition Gardening Hour Menu for £65, for 3 courses, 2 glasses of wine, 1/2 bottle of mineral water & coffee/tea per person. www.alainducasse-dorchester.com
