Last night saw the glittering culmination of the Chefs’ Choice Awards, and our team was honoured to be in attendance to pick up the Best Store Cupboard Ingredient gong for our class-leading Asian Aromatic stock base.
Held for their second year at London’s Haymarket Hotel, the awards shine a bright spotlight on the innovators demonstrating quality, creativity, value and great taste in their frozen, fresh, chilled or ambient products. Any accolade voted for by chefs is one worth winning, and so it was with great pride that our Innovation Manager, Dawn Faulkner – someone who, alongside our brigade of development chefs – is so instrumental in the Essential Cuisine creative process, could be on hand to collect the handsome trophy.
The judging process for the awards saw hundreds of foodservice products put through their paces by a team of national account development chefs, nutritionists, food tech experts, and some of the UK’s most respected food writers. The panel was unanimous in their praise for our Asian Aromatic stock – a highly versatile and fragrant base with delicate tones of lemongrass, coriander, ginger and star anise.
