Chef Ruth Hansom of Pomona’s, Notting Hill named Love British Food Ambassador

Head chef Ruth Hansom of Pomona’s in Notting Hill has been named a Love British Food Ambassador.

Ruth will work with Love British Food to provide ideas and resources and to champion British produce. Ruth joins a host of leading hospitality figures including Raymond Blanc OBE, Liz Earle MBE, Chris Bavin, Simon Hulstone and Phil Howard to name a few.

Dynamic and exceptionally talented, Ruth is a trailblazer in the UK hospitality industry with a passion for British produce, an impressive CV and an array of awards to her name. Justifiably, she is one of the UK’s leading young chefs. Ruth’s passion for locally sourced British produce, permeates throughout the new menus she is cooking at Pomona’s that feature a twist on the traditional a la carte offering, with sharing dishes from the land, sea and earth.

Alexia Robinson, Founder, Love British Food and British Food Fortnight “Now in its 18th year British Food Fortnight has been so popular and powerful in inspiring people around the country. Last year in excess of 1.5million British meals were served during the Fortnight through schools, universities, hospitals, care homes and corporates. 3,000+ shops, restaurants and pubs took part in addition to thousands of events in villages and towns. Changing times bring both challenges and opportunities for Britain's farmers and food producers and we are delighted to welcome Ruth Hansom to join the team to lead the way in celebrating and promoting British food.”

Ruth Hansom says: “I am honoured to have been asked to come on board. I truly believe, it is our responsibility as chefs to source ingredients local, seasonally and sustainably. I think it’s important to support small British suppliers who are really taking the time to give us such great quality.”
