Tem Ban’s founder and head chef Craig Broadhurst has spent nearly a decade honing his culinary expertise and five years focusing his understanding of Thai cuisine. Craig’s passion for Thai food was awakened training under industry masters at The Begging Bowl in Peckham, and developed further whilst working at Andy Oliver’s Thai Grill at Bar Story, plus as a ten month stint as Sous Chef at Smoking Goat perfecting the art of smoked meat with Thai flavours. Following on from Tem Ban’s sell-out successful launch dinners at The Lido Cafe in nearby Herne Hill and a series of short popup stints around South London, Craig is now bringing his fresh take on traditional Thai food to The King & Co for Tem Ban’s first extended pub residency.
Since its launch in September 2014, The King & Co has rapidly earned a reputation as a local pub with a difference. Anthony Gunson and his team are committed to providing a carefully-curated lineup of interesting craft beers, wines and spirits, plus friendly and attentive service, in their relaxed welcoming space just moments away from the busy main drag of Clapham Common. Tem Ban’s residency is the latest in The King & Co’s series of acclaimed kitchen collaborations with prominent London popup chefs and streetfood traders (including Allihopa, The Bell & Brisket, Fowl Mouths, and Donostia Social Club), which allows pub-goers the opportunity to experience a regularly-changing spread of remarkable food unlike anything else in the area.
