Global Knives Launches Competition for Top UK Chefs

In celebration of our upcoming 30th Anniversary, here at Global we have targeted the kitchen teams of 200 of the top restaurants in the UK giving them the chance to win a limited edition 9 piece Chef’s case.

Hundreds of letters and flyers were sent out last week from the I Grunwerg Ltd head office to top chefs and restaurants across the country, inviting them to enter the competition.

January 2015 will see the Japanese knife brand celebrate its 30th anniversary and the UK distributors, I Grunwerg Ltd have released several new products in celebration of this achievement. The 9 pce Chef’s set has been put together with the professional chef in mind and contains key bits of equipment such as the G22 Cook’s knife and G-21 Boning Knife.

Organised by Amy Gooding and Sophie Newton, the marketing managers at I Grunwerg ltd, they wanted to celebrate the relationship that exists between top chefs and the knives they use, as they need equipment that is reliable and works extremely well.

“We’ve been voted Chef’s Choice at the Restaurant Awards for five years in a row, an achievement that we’re incredibly proud of, and so we wanted to reach out to Chefs and do this competition as a way of saying thank you. We’ve got lots more activity lined up next year while we celebrate Global’s 30th Anniversary, so this is just the start of the fun really” said Amy.

Chefs who don’t receive an entry form in the post needn’t worry, as the competition is also open to online entries, just visit the Global Knives UK news pages to find out more. The closing date is the 20th December, with the winner being announced in January.
