Luxurious five-star Relais & Châteaux hotel, Glenapp Castle in Ayrshire, Scotland, is thrilled to announce that it has appointed Joe Gould as the new Executive Chef.

Moving from Head Chef at Fishmore Hall Hotel & Spa, the team at Glenapp Castle are delighted to be welcoming a fresh set of hands to head up the kitchen and oversee the culinary operation.

A versatile, highly committed and passionate chef, Joe has a strong background in hospitality.

His past achievements have included winning the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs UK Young Chef of the Year 2015.

A prestigious accolade, Chaîne des Rôtisseurs is an International Association of Gastronomy with 25,000 members. It is now established in over 80 countries bringing together enthusiasts who share the same values of quality, fine dining, the encouragement of the culinary arts and the pleasures of the table.

Joe has worked at one, two and three Michelin star levels across the UK, Germany, Hungary, Spain and the USA. He has also previously worked at leading five-star hotels including Dorchester Collection’s Coworth Park and Lainston House as well as working at Newick Park Country House Hotel and Bailiffscourt Hotel & Spa.

Joe has also worked at Aurora Restaurant, The Pond Restaurant and Rhubarb Food Design.

Joe is joining at an exciting time for Glenapp Castle.

The hotel is soon to be launching its new Azalea Glasshouse Restaurant and events space, located in the Castle’s picturesque walled garden. The hotel is also opening The Endeavour, its brand new penthouse castle apartment.

In addition to the four bedrooms, five bathrooms, media room, library and games room, sauna, beauty and treatment room, The Endeavour has its own kitchen and private dining room for up to 16 guests and is able to be offered on an exclusive and private basis with a full butler service and private chef.

Glenapp Castle is becoming renowned for offering its unique Hebridean Sea Safari experience. Guests are whisked off to the beautiful and remote island of Jura. Here, they will find the hotel’s glamping site that is also home to an Atlantic seal colony.

Surrounded by stunning seascapes and rugged landscapes, guests will dine in the wild before retreating to their African safari inspired tepees.

Aside from these unique dining experiences, the hotel already offers stunning and delicious cuisine. Indeed, the hotel was delighted that for the 18th consecutive year, they retained their 3 AA Rosettes for dining.

Managing Director of Glenapp Castle, Jill Chalmers comments - ‘’We are absolutely delighted that Joe is going to be joining our team at such an exciting time for Glenapp Castle.

We are launching our brand new Azalea Glasshouse Restaurant and Events Space and The Endeavour castle apartment this summer. We are also renowned for offering our Hebridean Sea Safari experience - a very popular activity amongst our guests and one that is so unique.
