Luke Tipping joins The Staff Canteen Live

Luke will be joining us at 15:30 on Monday, for The Staff Canteen Live. We are extremely excited to welcome such a well-respected name in the industry. It will be a great day for chefs and foodies alike.

Executive Chef Director of Simpsons, one Michelin star

Luke Tipping is the Executive Chef Director of Simpsons, Andreas Antona’s restaurant in Birmingham. Luke has been working with Andreas since their time at the Plough and Harrow, which was Luke’s first foray into the industry. Luke was brought up in restaurants as his dad was a chef, but he didn’t become interested in cooking till age 20, where he learned at Halesowen College. He left the Plough and Harrow along with Andreas and two years later they received a Michelin star for Simpsons, which was at the time located in Kenilworth. Since then he has been awarded Midlands Chef of the Year received a Professorship of Culinary Arts by University College Birmingham in 2010.He describes his food as ‘very natural, very seasonal and free flowing.’ There’s nothing on his restaurant’s menu that wouldn’t be in season, and the focus is always on taste over looks.
