Mitre Linen Fit For A King: Mitre Linen Granted Royal Warrant

After holding the late Queen Elizabeth’s warrant since 1955, Mitre Linen recently secured the royal stamp of approval from King Charles III. The Royal Warrant cements Mitre Linen as a premium, British brand, supplying Royal Households with high-quality linen. This invaluable recognition was granted following a meticulous application process which highlighted Mitre Linen’s ongoing dedication to sustainability, a matter close to the King’s heart.

In achieving the Royal Warrant, Mitre Linen has established itself as an environmentally conscious brand. Its sustainability policy has seen many changes to the business over the past years, including a 0% waste-to-landfill policy that means 80% of waste is recycled, a fully hybrid/electric transport fleet and the use of renewable electricity and gas across its sites. Encompassing both Mitre Linen’s dedication to luxury and the environment is Mitre Linen’s Eco range. Within this collection, bed linen and towels are manufactured using 100% organic cotton, eliminating farmers’ exposure to pesticides and chemicals whilst also supporting local biodiversity. Duvets and pillows are filled with soft, non-allergenic, recycled hollowfibre, extracted from plastic bottles, which reduces carbon dioxide emission by 70% and uses 40% less energy compared to standard, fibre production.

Commenting on Mitre Linen’s eco-conscious approach, Kate Pucknell, General Manager for Mitre Linen, explained:
“Our commitment to sustainability is now at the heart of everything we do, and we are focused on sourcing material in the most responsible way, caring for both the planet and our customers. The Mitre Eco collection is the epitome of our values, being sustainable without compromising on quality, leaving guests feeling cosy and content.”

A Royal Warrant is often granted for up to five years and is attached to each individual member of the royal family. Mitre first received this esteemed recognition in 1955 and have held a Royal Warrant ever since. Companies can only apply for a Royal Warrant if they have supplied a Royal Household for at least five years and must endure a rigorous process to ensure they meet the high standards expected. Each Royal Warrant must then be enacted by the Lord Chamberlain’s Office for this to be made official.

Kate Pucknell is very proud of the team at Mitre Linen and said:
“The King’s recognition is a real testament to everyone at Mitre Linen. It was a full team effort to retain the Royal Warrant, and we are thrilled that our dedication to excellence, service and sustainability has been rewarded. This is a prestigious story to share with colleagues and customers alike.”
