Steelite International launches new Restaurant Startup guide at 2016 Hotelympia

Steelite International, world-leading manufacturer and supplier of award-winning, inspirational tabletop ranges has worked alongside the Foodservice Consultants Society International Europe Africa Middle East (FCSI) to create a multi-media guide to opening a restaurant.

Officially launched at Hotelympia 2016, the Restaurant Startup guide draws upon the knowledge and expertise of a number of FCSI consultants. It outlines the step by step journey of opening a restaurant. Available in print and online, the guide includes downloadable fact sheets with hints and tips on everything from choosing a premises, planning menus and ordering tableware, to financial planning and hiring staff.
As well as advice from a number of FCSI consultants, the guide also features industry expertise from Steelite International, provider of tableware to thousands of restaurants worldwide.

Heather Lovatt, head of marketing at Steelite International, said: “As part of our work supplying tableware to restaurants all over the world, we have gathered substantial insight into the many steps involved in opening a new venture. In particular we understand the significant task of selecting and ordering the right tableware for each business, and the benefits of selecting high quality tableware from the outset to save money in the long run. For the remaining steps we were fortunate to be able to work closely with a number of FCSI consultants, whose invaluable knowledge and expertise will help educate first time and repeat restaurateurs about the practicalities of setting up a foodservice outlet.”

Simon Hulstone, chef proprietor at The Elephant and two time restaurateur, lends his support to the Restaurant Startup: “Steelite’s digital guide really helps bring the advice to life and gives you the chance to drill down into the sections that are relevant to you. You can never plan enough when opening a restaurant – there is so much involved that it’s near impossible to foresee every potential pitfall and outcome. Even with experience behind you it isn’t easy, as I discovered when launching my second foodservice venture, Burridges.”

Foodservice business advisor and contributing FCSI consultant Chris Barber provides insight on the importance of branding to new foodservice ventures: “In my work I deal with many businesses that are suffering with ongoing problems as a result of poor branding decisions made early on in the process. A resource like the Restaurant Startup guide can really benefit anyone who is new to foodservice, providing sound industry advice and allowing them to get it right from the start, avoiding any danger points or common mistakes before they have a negative impact on the business.”

As well as launching the Restaurant Startup guide at Hotelympia, Steelite International welcomed visitors to its stand to experience inspirational designs, valuable industry insight and a range of eye-catching1109 and stylish tabletop concepts and solutions tailored to all sectors of the hospitality industry.

Steelite International is dedicated to bringing its customers innovative designs and solutions tailored to all sectors of the hospitality industry informed by the latest trends. It has recently partnered with Bodum to exclusively supply the UK hospitality industry with Bodum’s range of beverage service products. Visitors were able to view this collection at Hotelympia along with a number of Steelite International ranges including Speigelau, striking yet simple glassware, and Elite by Drinique, a line of drinkware that delivers sleek, elegant design and five-star quality that stacks without sticking and won’t break.
