Anthony Demetre to open Vermuteria Café & Bar at Kings Cross

Anthony Demetre will open Vermuteria Café & Bar in Coal Drops Yard, King’s Cross, in late October 2018, alongside numerous other prestigious food and drink outlets in the ongoing development of the area.

Prompted by his interest in vermouth and the classic bodegas and vermuterias in northern Spain and Italy, Anthony will offer an all-day menu, highlighting casual eating (salads, charcuterie, pastries), with a comprehensive drinks accompaniment, including numerous vermouth-based cocktails.

Vermuteria will be a 45-seat informal café and bar, with additional seating outdoors for 40. The interior will incorporate original brickwork within the arches and wooden beams, and Anthony has assembled a collection of drinks-related memorabilia, including posters, to adorn the walls. Staff uniforms will be by Margaret Howell.

“I love a traditional, proper Negroni - and vermouth is my tipple of choice,” explained Anthony Demetre. “I have been experimenting with infusing vermouths with botanicals to enhance the flavour options, and Vermuteria will feature at least 40 different vermouths.”
