Craft Guild of Chefs launch new mentor scheme

New scheme to provide support to members looking to develop their careers

The Craft Guild of Chefs has today announced the launch of a new mentor scheme to coincide with National Mentoring Day, which takes place on 27th October.

As an association representing the interests of chefs, The Craft Guild of Chefs has long recognised the role it has played in developing the careers of its members and in opening doors through networking opportunities.

With the challenges of Covid-19 still impacting on the hospitality industry, The Craft Guild of Chefs felt the timing was right to launch a mentoring scheme which can support Chefs who are seeking to develop their careers.

Interested members can apply to be mentored by sending an email to [email protected] and there are no limitations on who can apply. The Craft Guild in conjunction with the mentors will seek to place the right mentor with the appropriate mentee.

Andrew Bennett Chair of Craft Guild of Chefs commented "Members of the Craft Guild of Chefs benefit from years of experience and I know our mentors will take a lot of pleasure in giving back and using their expertise to boost the careers of fellow chefs. Whether the mentee is a commis chef looking to take the next step on the ladder, or a Sous Chef looking for advice on advancing to the role of Head Chef, our mentor scheme should offer a valuable boost.”

Chris Galvin, Chef Patron, Galvin Restaurants who is also one of the mentors said; "I’m delighted that the Craft Guild of Chefs has decided to launch a mentorship scheme to support chefs across the industry. There’s never been a more important time for chefs to come together, than there is right now.”
