First Restaurants in Birmingham Restaurant Festival Line-Up Revealed

Michelin-Starred Purnell’s, Plates By Purnell’s, Chapter, Trentina, Dishoom, and Tattu, announced in line-up for Birmingham Restaurant Festival, hosted in the UK’s Most Exciting Foodie Destination

Today, the preview list of restaurants taking part in Birmingham Restaurant Festival from the 1st to the 31st of August is revealed.

Every year, restaurants participating in Birmingham Restaurant Festival create a great value, set dinner menu for diners to enjoy during the Festival; some restaurants will also offer a lunch menu.

Birmingham Restaurant Festival is a celebration and showcase of the fantastic restaurants across the city crowned the Most Exciting Foodie Destination in 2022 by the Good Food Guide.*

Among the first venues announced are:
- Purnell’s, Glynn Purnell, the Yummy Brummie’s Michelin-starred, flagship restaurant, offering bright and modern dishes and decor
- Plates by Purnell’s, the second venue by Glynn Purnell and his team, serving classic Spanish tapas in a small and cosy restaurant
- Chapter, a proudly independent neighbourhood restaurant, offering divine dishes championing the best of British seasonal produce
- Trentina, a gem of the Jewellery Quarter, serving freshly made pasta, delectable salads and British charcuterie, made with locally grown and crafted ingredients
- Dishoom, a Bombay-inspired restaurant, serving a variety of sharing dishes paying homage to traditional Irani cafes
- Tattu, known for their contemporary Chinese cuisine presented in an elegant, opulent dining setting.

Renowned for its multiculturalism, Birmingham is called home by people belonging to 187 nationalities and its vibrant dining scene reflects this diversity.

Birmingham Restaurant Festival will shine a light on the city’s operators and present the opportunity for establishments to reach a new audience. Last year’s Festival introduced new customers to 70% of the venues, with 70% of diners affirming they will return to their newly experienced eateries.

Other participating restaurants include Hotel du Vin’s Birmingham Bistro, Primitivo, Chaophraya, Isaac’s, and Chung Ying Cantonese, home to one of the UK’s largest selections of dim sum.

The final restaurant line-up will be revealed closer to the event and the Festival menus will all be announced on the 20th of June.

Alex Nicholson-Evans, Founder & Director of Living For The Weekend, organisers of Birmingham Restaurant Festival, said: “Birmingham Restaurant Festival celebrates and showcases some of the most remarkable restaurants in the city. This will be the third year of the Festival and it’s set to be the most spectacular yet.”
