Maple & Apricot Energy Gel

This recipe will make two portions of maple and apricot energy gel. A great natural substitution to high street energy gels.

Ingredients

  • 80ml dried apricots
  • 250ml water
  • 30ml (2 tbsp) maple syrup
  • 1ml (1/4 tsp) salt

Method

Place the apricots and water in a small saucepan and bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 10-15 minutes until the fruit is very soft. Add the maple syrup and salt, then purée using a food processor or hand blender. Add as much water as needed to create a more liquid texture. Leave to cool. Transfer to a flexible container that can be used during workouts and competitions.
