Marinated Scottish Beef Rump Roast

As an incredibly popular meat within the UK, beef recipes are vast and varied. With a range of beef cuts to consider as well as cooking methods and flavour pairings, beef recipes are varied in flavour, texture and preparation time - give this one a try for yourself! Servings:  10 Prep time: 15 minutes Cook time: 80 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1.2kg Scottish beef top rump
  • 30ml MAGGI Beef Liquid Concentrated Fonds
  • 30ml olive oil

Method

Method
Remove the beef from the fridge and marinate in the MAGGI Beef Liquid Concentrated Fonds and olive oil making sure it is well coated. Marinate for at least one hour at room temperature covered.
Preheat the oven to 190c and pre heat a roasting pan until smoking hot.
Seal the beef on all sides ensuring you get good searing.
Place in the oven and roast for 60 minutes or until core temperature is 60 degrees for medium. Cook for less if rare is preferred. Rest for at least 20 minutes.
Serve with a pan gravy made with a dash of whisky, tatties and neeps.
Serving suggestion
Serve with traditional roasted vegetables.
Chef’s Tip
If preferred use brisket or topside for a cheaper beef cut.
