Spaghetti Bolognese

  • Ingredients
  • 100g onion, chopped
  • 10ml olive oil
  • 10g garlic, crushed
  • 1.2Ltr water
  • 600g lean minced beef
  • 1tsp oregano
  • 500g MAGGI® Rich & Rustic Tomato Sauce
  • 30ml MAGGI® Beef Liquid Concentrated Fonds
  • 1tsp basil, chopped
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • 400g spaghetti, cooked according to pack instructions


In a large pan fry the onions in olive oil until soft, then add garlic and cook on low heat until fragrant.
Add the water to the pan and bring to the boil. Once boiling, add the minced beef to the pan and break down with a whisk. Bring the mix to the boil again, skimming the excess scum for the surface and stirring in the oregano. Allow to simmer for 45 minutes or until the meat is tender.
Add the tomato sauce and beef fonds and simmer for a further 30 minutes.
Add the basil two minutes before serving, and some black pepper if desired.
Serve with spaghetti cooked as per pack instructions.
