Bonzer Black Can Openers

The Bonzer Can opener came to life during the Second World War and over 70 years later is still going strong.  What is more, the Bonzer Can Opener is still manufactured in the UK, in the original factory, and despite many updates to meet the rigours of modern catering, it remains as recognisable and as loved by caterers today as it was back then.  Since the first can in 1940, it is estimated that Bonzer can openers have opened more than 10 billion cans.
Guy Cooper, Managing Director at Mitchell & Cooper, is extremely proud that the company continues to be British:
“There has always been a general perception that British products are better made, better designed and that they’ll last far longer than inferior alternatives. However, there will always be cheap imports coming in from the Far East, no matter what the product is. Some of these will develop a market, whilst others will always suffer because of their inferiority.  After seeing many cheap imports attempt to grab a slice of the market, Bonzer continues to be the number one, and the only can opener that has lasted the test of time.”
The new generation of Bonzer can openers, the Bonzer Black, continues the tradition of high quality products, which are at the cutting edge of new technology.  The new improved design features an anti-bacterial coating on the blades to give the cleanest most hygienic cut ever and also includes a quick release blade for easy cleaning.

Small Contribution. Big Impact.

The Staff Canteen has always been more than a website—it’s a community, built by and for hospitality. We share the wins, the challenges, the graft, and the inspiration that keeps kitchens alive.

We believe in staying open to everyone, but creating this content takes real resources. If you’ve ever found value here—whether it’s a recipe, an interview, or a laugh when you needed it most—consider giving just £3 to keep it going.

A little from you keeps this space free for all. Let’s keep lifting the industry, together.
