Guinness Bread

Lovely Dark, moist bread.


  • 20lb 8oz Wholemeal Flour
  • 6lb 4oz Strong Flour
  • 1/2lb Bread Soda
  • 1lb 3oz Salt
  • 3lb 12 oz Oatmeal
  • 3lb 12oz Wheatgerm
  • 3lb 12oz Soft Diced Butter
  • 3lb 12oz Wheat Bran
  • 14pts Guinness (check consistency, may have to add a little more depending)
  • 10ltr Milk
  • 10tins treacle (4540g)


Mix all the dry ingreds together INCLUDING the butter
Add the milk.
Heat the treacle with a little of the guinness & add to the mix followed by the remaining Guinness
Grease loaf tins
Mould mix into tins & cook for 1&1/2 hours at 145oC
