treacle tart filling

a very unusual filling fortreacle tart it contains weetabix and fresh apple

Ingredients

  • 2pts goldern syrup
  • 2 weetabix crushed
  • 12oz fresh breadcrumbs
  • 1 orange zested
  • 1 lemon zested
  • 3 apples grated
  • 3tsp ground cinnamon
  • binding mix
  • 3oz brown sugar
  • 3oz clotted cream
  • 1 1/2 oz soft butter

Method

Warm the goldern syrup up and add all the rest of the ingredients
For the binding mix
beat the butter clotted cream and sugar until combined and lightened in texture
Fold both mixes together
If small indivdual tarts bake at 160oc hgal fan for 15-20 mins
For a large tart bake at 160oc half fan for up to an hour
