shropshire gingerbread

rub butter into flour
mix in dry ingredients
make well
add golden syrup, egg, brandy
knead to a ...

Ingredients

  • 325g flour
  • 100g butter
  • 100g golden syrup
  • 100g sugar
  • 2tbsp ground ginger
  • 10ml brandy
  • ground mace
  • 1 egg

Method

rub butter into flour
mix in dry ingredients
make well
add golden syrup, egg, brandy
knead to a dough
leave overnight in fridge
roll our a long cylinder
cut slices out
bake at 170'C for 25 mins until golden
cool on a rack
