- 50g icing sugar
- 300g suet
- 450g s.r.flour
- 350ml milk
- pinch of salt.

jam roly poly we used to serve at rhodes south carved table side with hot jam sauce and fresh vanilla custard
Ingredients
Method
Sift flour, icing sugar, salt into a bowl.
Add the lemon zest. Mix in the suet.
Slowly add the milk, adding until a soft slightly sticky dough is achieved.
Cut into 4 put back into bowl cling film leave 1 hour.
Roll out to a 18 by 20cm triangle.
Spread over 80g of either good qualkity strawberry jam. or homemade
Brush edges with water and roll up not to tightly.
Wrap up in buttered baking parchment. with a fold in the top of baking parchmenbt
Then wrap loosely in tin foil.
Steam for 1h 10mins, leave to rest for 10mins.
